Abstract - Israel is one of the ten countries in the world with the lowest natural renewable water resources and since the inception of the State the water sector has faced the imbalance between supply and demand. Even in a year of average rainfall the demand exceeds the available water resources. Furthermore, the quality of the source water is deteriorating due to over exploitation and intense human activity.
