IDE recently celebrated the launch of the ground-breaking and industry-leading Vasilikos desalination plant in Cyprus. Although Cyprus is in close proximity to the Mediterranean Sea, the country has been troubled with a lack of fresh water. With the Vasilikos facility, which produces 60,000 cubic meters of fresh, high quality water per day, IDE is helping to solve the country’s water shortage problem.
At the launch ceremony, IDE’s CFO, Gal Zohar, stated, “IDE is proud to be a vital part in this solution – designing, engineering, operating and supplying world leading desalination plants for Cyprus since the beginning of the 90’s.” He added, “We love working in Cyprus, a country that many IDE employees have had the pleasure of calling ‘home’ over the past few years.”
The ceremony was attended by the President of the Republic of Cyprus, the Ambassador of Israel and several other distinguished guests.
