Construction of Carlsbad Desalination Project Begins

IDE Technologies recently attended a celebration in Carlsbad, California to mark the start of construction of the Carlsbad Desalination Project, the largest seawater desalination plant in the western hemisphere, which will produce up to 54 million gallons (204,412 m3) of high quality water upon completion by the end of 2015.

Attended by Mark Lambert, CEO, Orlando Carreno, Regional Director of Sales and Business Development for South America, and Chris Johansen, Project Manager – all from IDE Americas, as well as Moshe Goldstein Senior EVP and Ziv Shor, Project Manager – both from IDE Technologies in Israel, along with state and local elected officials, San Diego County Water Authority (SDCWA) board members, the plant’s project design and construction team, and community supporters, the event featured a program including Matt Hall, Mayor of Carlsbad, and Thomas Wornham, Chair of the SDCWA board.
