IDE lifts giant MED in India
IDE has successfully lifted for assembly the first of its four additional mammoth Thermal Multi-Effect Distillation (MED) desalination units, at one of the world’s largest oil refineries. The unit which was shipped to India on schedule is of a production capacity of 24,000 cubic meters per day (cu.m/day). The other three units to follow are of an equal size. Once the project is complete IDE will boast the world’s largest single site MED project.

Ashkelon Awarded by IDS for Outstanding Achievement
Late December 2006, in a ceremony attended by the General Manager of the Ministry of National Infrastructures the Israeli Desalination Society (IDS) commended IDE’s Asheklon Desalination Plant (100Mcm/y), with a Special Award for Outstanding Achievement.
IDE reaches 100M m3 milestone in Ashkelon plant!
IDE‘s Ashkelon SWRO Desalination Facility has successfully delivered the first 100 Million Cubic meters (26 billion gallons) of potable water. This represents the amount of desalinated water the plant is contracted to provide on an annual basis.
The production rate began at 50 million m3/year in August 2005 and increased to 100 million m3/year in December 2005. Since then, the plant has been performing above all expectations in terms of quality, quantity and energy consumption.
IDE Strengthens Position in Central Asia
Will provide a Multi-Effect Distillation (MED) seawater desalination plant to a national power plant in Kazakhstan, at a total worth of US $14 million.
IDE has recently signed a contract for the provision of two desalination units for a national power plant in Kazakhstan at a total worth of US$14 million. The desalination plant will supply boiler feed water to the power plant as well as drinking water to the nearby city of Aktau.
