IDE reaches 100M m3 milestone in Ashkelon plant!
IDE‘s Ashkelon SWRO Desalination Facility has successfully delivered the first 100 Million Cubic meters (26 billion gallons) of potable water. This represents the amount of desalinated water the plant is contracted to provide on an annual basis.
The production rate began at 50 million m3/year in August 2005 and increased to 100 million m3/year in December 2005. Since then, the plant has been performing above all expectations in terms of quality, quantity and energy consumption.
Mr. Gustavo Kronenberg CEO of VID, the consortium which financed, built and operates the plant and who will also hold the same position in H2ID, the company formed by IDE and its partners to construct and operate the new 100 million m3/year Hadera SWRO project commented: “we are very proud of Ashkelon and hope to surpass its achievements at Hadera."
