IDE to provide a $2.5 million worth desalination plant to Peru’s Electrical Company - EnerSur

IDE Technologies signed a $2.5 million contract for the provision of a desalination plant to EnerSur, an electrical company in Peru. The desalination plant will provide the power plant’s boiler feed water as well as drinking water.

The Mechanical Vapor Compression (MVC), an electrically powered thermal process desalination plant, will provide approximately 1,500 cubic meters per day (cu.m/day) to EnerSur’s power station in the city of Ilo in the southern region of Peru. EnerSur is owned by the international company Tractebel, headquartered in Belgium.

The desalination unit will begin operation towards the second half of 2006. The construction of this unit will utilize numerous technological innovations consequently enlarging the capacity of the plant as well as considerably reducing its electrical consumption. The unit will adhere to the strictest engineering and quality standards. IDE Technologies has installed many other desalination plants in Latin America and in Peru in the past, all producing high quality desalinated water for industry, mines, refineries and power plant uses.

For instance- few months ago, IDE Technologies has signed a $3.8 contract for the supply of two MVC desalination plants to a copper welding and refining factory in Peru.
