Drawing from core competencies in membrane and thermal desalination, industrial evaporators and heat pumps, IDE currently produces advanced green solutions for diverse water and energy applications, including water and effluent purification, mine cooling, snow making, thermal energy storage and district heating.

Thermal Distillation
IDE is internationally recognized as a pioneer and leader in the delivery of Thermal Distillation plants. IDE's Low Temperature Thermal Distillation units are capable of producing boiler feed water from sea water. They are available in two versions differentiated by the method used for the supply of energy: 1) Mechanical Vapor Compression (MVC), a proprietary electrically-driven mechanical compressor; and 2) Multi Effect Distillation (MED), a low pressure steam process.
In 2005, IDE completed the construction and launch of the world largest SWRO plant in Ashkelon, Israel, with an annual capacity of 118 Million cubic meters. Since then, IDE has built another 127 Million cubic meter SWRO plant in Hadera, Israel, and has won a tender for the building of a 150 Million cubic meter SWRO plant in Soreq, Israel. Each of the above-mentioned plants was and currently is the largest SWRO desalination plant of its kind in the world. IDE has continuously succeeded in gradually and dramatically reducing the overall desalinated water costs on long-term BOT contracts.
IDE's Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants leverage the accumulated experience, technological excellence and know-how that it has built over forty five years, an unmatched record that has made IDE the clear leader of the world desalination market in general, and mega-size SWRO in particular. RO desalination plants are used for treating the full range of water compositions, including tap water, brackish water (BWRO) and sea water (SWRO)
Industrial Evaportors
IDE's offers a broad range of energy efficient, environmentally friendly industrial Evaporation solutions also known as Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) solutions. Leveraging its vast experience and extensive technological expertise in thermal engineering, IDE’s solutions are unique in their ability to concentrate brines containing hard, scale-forming compounds. IDE's Heavy Duty Evaporator (HDE) units are designed for Oil & Gas industries, chemical processing companies and a wide range of highly polluted industrial effluents.
Refrigeration and Heating
IDE's Refrigeration, Heating and Snowmaking applications use Vacuum Ice Making (VIM) technology to generate Ice/Snow at any ambient temperature. IDE's VIM technology offers energy efficient, low operation cost and environmental friendly solutions.
