Membrane Desalination Reference Projects

Membrane Desalination Reference Projects

IDE specializes in the building and operation of medium, large and mega-sized desalination plants.
These plants are being deployed in water deprived regions, ushering in a new era of plentiful, affordable drinking water for an increasingly water-challenged world.

IDE has engineered, built, and currently operates all the world’s mega-sized SWRO desalination facilities.
Through ongoing development of best-in-class technologies, IDE has achieved a continuous increase in the desalination capacities of large-scale plants, while dramatically reducing desalinated water costs on long-term BOT contracts.

As illustrated above, since 2001 the capacity of IDE’s desalination plants has risen dramatically from 21.5 million m3/year in Larnaca to 118 m3/year in Ashkelon, 127 m3/year in Hadera and 150 m3/year in Soreq. In parallel, the cost of desalinated water has plummeted from $0.79 per cubic meter in 2001 to a planned $0.58 per cubic meter in 2013.
