Sales Engineer

The Industrial Clients Sales Engineer is responsible to develop and execute Sales and Marketing activities in the industrial sector with a primary focus in the Texas region. This person will act as IDE's "Ambassador" in this region and will represent, position and support related IDE activities. This role will aid to determine local market needs, understand market trends, the competitive scene and key players, and to assist in generating sales in this sector.

Job Description

  • Provide Techno-commercial support for IDE’s sales activity:
  • Present IDE’s solutions to new and existing clients
  • Position IDE with the technical consultants and EPCs to generate a competitive advantage in sales leads and opportunities.
  • Support proposal process including the decision process, interface between solution managers, proposal clarification process, and decision making (sales strategy, pricing, commercial terms, etc.)
  • Responsible for IDE’s EPCs account management activity:
  • Develop new and maintain existing EPCs relationship before, during, and after development of specific opportunities, specifically engineering firms
  • Position IDE with the technical consultants and EPCs to generate a competitive advantage in deals and opportunities.
  • Assist in generating leads and opportunities through the on-going relationship with the EPCs and Consultants
  • Sales - Responsible for IDE's sales activity in the industrial sector:
  • Execute the sales plan in the industrial sector in accordance with corporate goals
  • Execution of the sales plan
  • Identify new clients and opportunities
  • Account management of existing clients
  • Development of new project initiatives
  • Lead pre-sales activity
  • Support proposals management
  • Support negotiation and contract execution
  • Development and management of the projects pipeline
  • Develop new and maintain existing agents/sales channels and strategic partnerships in the regional area to maintain competitive advantage
  • Assist as requested by CEO on opportunities, proposals, projects outside of region
  • Attend sales meetings, conferences, seminars as needed
  • Other related duties as requested by the CEO
  • Offering development - Responsible to provide market inputs for developing the IDE offering:
  • Identify market needs
  • Provide market guidance and information for the product development team

Job Requirements

  • A minimum of 7-10 years of experience as a chemical/process/civil Engineer.
  • MBA in business a plus Experience in supporting complex sales processes
  • Good analytical skills to identify market threats and opportunities
  • Negotiation and presentation skills
  • Ability to allocate and prioritize resources to meet challenges and achieve revenue targets
  • Able to work in a demanding and busy environment
  • Thorough knowledge of modern Industrial Practices and Processes
  • Able to lead, challenge, and work as part of a diverse team
  • Practical aptitude, self-motivated, and a confident communicator
  • Ability to work long hours, weekends, holidays and be on call when required
  • Successfully pass a background test and drug test
