International Water Conference – IWC
IDE Technologies Speaking at International Water Conference
The International Water Conference (IWC) is an educational conference bringing together end users, researchers, engineers, managers and contractors to participate in active discussions about the state of water. IWC presents the latest in scientific advances and practical applications across a wide range of industries, technologies and functional areas, with the goal of advancing new developments in the treatment, use and reuse of water for industrial and other engineering purposes.
Dr. Alex Drak, IDE Technologies’ Industrial Water Treatment Expert, will be presenting at IWC. He will discuss “Mine Impacted Water Minimization Technology – 3 Years of Development” on November 11, 2019, between 1:15 and 5:00 p.m. As part of the “Digging in the Dirt for Selenium and Sulfate” program, the presentation will focus on the impact of the mining industry on water usage, the importance of minimizing water effluents from mining, and different effluent treatment strategies. Dr. Drak will highlight the MAXH2O DESALTER which contains an RO system with an integrated salt precipitation unit, making it possible to achieve the required sulfate concentration. Early results show that the system can reach recoveries of over 85%, at which the calcium sulfate saturation index theoretically reaches over 1,000%, which could lead to sudden calcium sulfate precipitation on the RO membrane.
IDE Technologies is a Bronze Sponsor of the conference and will be exhibiting at booth #404.
