Indian Delegation Meets IDE Technologies Senior Executives at the Sorek Desalination Plant
Last month, a 14 member delegation from India, including Mr. Vijay Rupani, Hon. Chief Minister of Gujarat, toured the Sorek Desalination Plant in Israel to learn first-hand about IDE innovative water solutions.
The tour of the Sorek Desalination Plant was led by IDE senior executives, Messrs. Avshalom Felber, Executive Chairman, Amnon Levy, CEO IDE projects, Roni Klein, global sales director for the Eastern Hemisphere and Zur Genosar, executive director.
During the tour, the Indian delegation learned about IDE’s leading water treatment solutions including seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO), brackish water reverse osmosis (BWRO), wastewater reuse and brine minimization. The tour of the Sorek Desalination Plant, the world’s largest operating SWRO plant, gave the IDE executive team the opportunity also to discuss the vast experience that IDE has in large-scale desalination plants.
The state of Gujarat in India is familiar with IDE’s work as it is home to India’s largest desalination plant belonging to Reliance Industries. Following the tour, Mr. Felber presented Minister Rupani with a gift of one of his favorite books, “Let There Be Water: Israel’s Solution for a Water-Starved World” by Seth Siegel.
Collaboration with leaders across the globe to discuss water treatment solutions for areas prone to drought, such as India, is essential for the provision of a sustainable source of clean drinking water for communities.
