U.S. Senator to California visits the Sorek Desalination Plant to Learn about Effective Water Management

Got an inside look at the Sorek Desalination Plant

Kamala Harris, the U.S. Senator to California, got an inside look at the Sorek Desalination Plant to learn more about water treatment solutions provided by IDE Technologies. The tour was led by Ronen Hadash, the CEO of the Sorek plant. Senator Harris and Mr.

Hadash discussed water management in Israel and around the world.

The senator was particularly interested in learning about the efficiency of IDE’s seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) technology and the innovative solutions the company is developing for brine management.

IDE’s brine management technology significantly increases recovery of common brackish water reverse osmosis (BWRO) systems, cooling tower blowdown treatment systems, and acid mine drainage treatment systems.

As California continues to face water scarcity issues, the state is looking for innovative ways to ensure there is a continuous supply of water for residential and industrial use. California is already home to the largest desalination plant in the Western Hemisphere, the Claude “Bud” Lewis Carlsbad Desalination Plant.
